Tim development Nokia N9 Sudah menambakan elemen baru dalam hal desain ponsel, pengembangan software, serta pengembangan UI. Jadinya N9 kini memiliki gestur yang sangat simpel. Dimana para user cukup menggeser layar dengan jari saat ingin berpindah aplikasi.

Nokia N9 memiliki desain unibody layaknya N8. Dengan ukuran layar 3,9 inch AMOLED, icon yang terpampang di layar terlihat cukup jelas dan terang. Body Nokia N9 diukir dari bahan polycarbonate. Hp ini hadir dalam tiga warna: yakni hitam, cyan, dan magenta dengan kapasitas MMC 16GB dan 64GB. HP ini pun juga dilengkapi dengan kamera 8 megapixel Carl Zeiss.

Nokia N9 ini tak dilengkapi tombol fisik di sekitar layar. Para user secara penuh akan menggunakan gestur sentuhan jari, seperti geser dan double tap.

Homescreen Nokia N9 Meliputi 3 bagian yakni : menu aplikasi, feed jejaring sosial dan notifikasi termasuk kalender, jadwal, sms dan sebagainya, dan tampilan aplikasi yang sedang dijalankan untuk mempermudah perpindahan aplikasi.

Untuk urusan Browsing Nokia N9 diklaim lebih cepat dari ponsel Nokia sebelumnya. Dengan teknologi Webkit 2, halaman web terasa lebih responsif. Selain itu kemampuan browsing N9 juga sudah didukung teknologi HTML5.

Selain berfungsi sebagai ponsel pintar, Nokia N9 pun telah dilengkapi teknologi dompat digital Near Field Communication (NFC). Dengan ini pengguna nantinya cukup mendekatkan N9 ke mesin NFC untuk melakukan pembayaran. Masalahnya tinggal menunggu kesiapan teknologi ini hadir di Indonesia.

Tidak terasa, penghujung tahun 2011 sudah tiba. Begitu banyak gadget baru dikeluarkan pada tahun ini. Sebagian memang hebat dan dipuja, sebagian lagi dicerca.

Para produsen perangkat elektronik memang berlomba memperkenalkan gadget nan canggih tahun ini. Beberapa di antaranya berpengaruh besar dari sisi teknologi, inovasi maupun desain sehingga menjadi benchmark bagi para pesaingnya.

Gadget apa saja yang dianggap paling berpengaruh di 2011? Inilah daftarnya seperti detikINET kutip dari berbagai sumber seperti TechRadar dan Smart Company, Senin (19/12/2011). Daftar ini disusun berdasarkan abjad, bukan peringkat:

1. Amazon Kindle Fire
Banyak tablet berusaha menumbangkan iPad, belum ada satupun yang berhasil. Kindle Fire mungkin punya peluang terbesar. Sejatinya tidak ada yang istimewa dari gadget ini, namun ia datang dengan senjata rahasia. Yaitu harga sangat murah, hanya USD 199 dan nama besar Amazon yang menyediakan konten berlimpah. Kindle Fire pun dianggap ancaman utama iPad.

2. Apple iPad 2
iPad 2 menyajikan performa kelas atas dengan prosesor dual core serta aplikasi menawan semacam GarageBand atau Codify. Tablet ini juga berukuran sangat tipis yang memicu produsen lain berlomba-lomba menirunya. Berkat dukungan aplikasi khusus yang begitu banyak di App Store, serta aksesoris cover inovatif Smart Cover, iPad 2 sangat memikat.

3. Apple MacBook Air 11 inch
Pelopor laptop super tipis ini semakin digdaya. Dengan prosesor Sandy Bridge dan storage SSD, laptop MacBook Air 11 inch dapat hidup dengan seketika serta menawarkan baterai dengan keawetan ekstra.

4. Canon Ixus 230HS
Canon Ixus 230HS memang tidak memiliki lensa interchangeable, layar yang bisa diputar atau resolusi super tinggi. Namun sistem HS-nya dianggap memukau. Sistem HS (High Sensitivity) bisa membidik objek dengan hasil bagus di hampir semua kondisi pencahayaan.

5. LG Optimus 3D

7. Nintendo 3 DS
Konsol portabel dengan kemampuan 3D menjadikan Nintendo 3DS sebagai inovasi tersendiri di dunia game. Pengalaman main game pun terasa lebih hidup. Sayang ada isu pernjualannya kurang menggembirakan, mungkin karena masih kurang banyaknya titel game tersedia serta isu miring mengenai layar 3D.

Televisi ini menyajikan kualitas gambar yang sangat baik dalam segmen TV plasma. Film-film kualitas tinggi dapat disaksikan dengan sajian gambar sangat jernih dan penuh warna.

9. Samsung Galaxy S II
Muncul awal 2011, gadget ini langsung menarik perhatian. Para kritikus memujinya karena menyajikan paket lengkap desain langsing nan menarik, prerforma sangat kencang serta layar menawan. 5 BlackBerry Terbaru

Research In Motion (RIM) telah memperkenalkan handset terbarunya. Ada dua BlackBerry Bold, satu Blackberry Torch dan dua versi Torch full touchscreen yang dirilisnya sekaligus. Seperti apa spesifikasinya?

BlackBerry Bold 9900 dan 9930

BlackBerry Bold 9900 dan 9930, dengan ketebalan 10,5mm diklaim sebagai handset tertipis yang pernah dibuat RIM sejauh ini. Gadget yang juga dikenal dengan nama Bold Touch ini sudah menggunakan BlackBerry OS 7 dan diotaki prosesor 1,2 GHz. Terdapat kapasitas penyimpanan internal 8GB dan layar sentuh berukuran 2,8 inch. Dua BlackBerry ini juga dilengkapi kamera 5 MP autofocus dengan kemampuan rekam video 720p.

Selain itu, BlackBerry Bold 9900 dan 9930 juga sudah mendukung teknologi NFC (Near Field Communication). Dari sisi penampilan, tidak tampak perbedaan signifikan dari pada keduanya. Masih tampak mirip dengan seri Bold sebelumnya.

BlackBerry Torch 9810

BlackBerry Torch 9810 adalah handset touchscreen dengan slide-down qwerty keyboard. Sama seperti seri Bold terbaru, handset ini menggunakan prosesor 1,2GHz, BlackBerry OS 7 dan mendukung NFC. Dibekali kamera 5MP, kemampuannya sama dengan seri Bold terbaru, terutama untuk rekam video 720p. Torch yang awalnya dikenal dengan nama kode Monza, memiliki ketebalan 11,5mm. Layar handset dengan kapasitas memori internal 8GB ini berukuran 3,69 inch dengan resolusi WSVGA (800x480) dengan 253 dpi.

BlackBerry Torch 9850 dan 9860

Kedua BlackBerry full touchscreen ini mengusung layar 3,7 inch. Sama seperti tiga handset terbaru RIM lainnya, baik BlackBerry Torch 9850 maupun 9860 juga dibekali prosesor 1,2 GHz, BlackBerry OS 7, kamera 5MP dan sudah mendukung NFC. Berbeda dengan BlackBerry Torch 9810, BlackBerry Bold 9900 dan 9930, kapasitas memori internal kedua handset ini ternyata lebih kecil, yakni 4GB.

Seperti sudah diketahui, RIM membekali kelima handsetnya yang baru diperkenalkan ini dengan BlackBerry OS 7. OS ini diklaim membuat ponsel sangat responsif, memiliki interface engine baru dan animasi menarik yang berubah-ubah. Penanaman browser OS 7 juga akan mempercepat performa berinternet, menjadi 40 persen lebih cepat dari yang ada di OS 6.

BlackBerry Torch 9860 dan BlackBerry Bold 9900 segera diluncurkan secara resmi pada September di Amerika Serikat (AS), Inggris, sebagian Eropa termasuk Kanada. Sedangkan BlackBerry Torch 9810 akan diluncurkan bulan ini.

Terus Anjlok, Nokia Banting Harga

Nokia melancarkan sejumlah strategi untuk tetap bisa bertahan di pasar ponsel Eropa, salah satunya memangkas harga ponselnya sehingga meningkatkan kemungkinan untuk dapat bersaing dalam pasar ponsel. Hal itu dikatakan dua sumber Industri kepada Reuters pada Selasa.

Ponsel pintar Nokia dengan cepat kehilangan pangsa pasar karena kalah bersaing dengan ponsel pintar yang berjalan pada platform Google Android dan perusahaan asal Finlandia itu diprediksi akan melaporkan kerugian pada kuartal kedua dan ketiga tahun ini.

Salah satu sumber yang paham langsung tentang harga Nokia mengatakan Nokia melakukan pemotongan besar sekitar 15 persen pada pengiriman Nokia N8, ponsel multimedia C7 dan ponsel bisnis E6.

Potongan harga lainnya jauh lebih kecil, menurut kedua sumber tersebut.

"Untuk setiap model tidak dikenakan pemotongan harga yang besar, tapi skala seluruh portofolio - belum terlihat untuk waktu yang sangat lama," kata salah satu sumber yang bekerja pada operator telekomunikasi Eropa.

Saham Nokia turun 1,5 persen menjadi 4,37 euro pada akhir perdagangan. Saham Nokia jatuh lebih dari 40 persen pada tahun ini di tengah kekhawatiran perpindahan Nokia dari perangkat lunak Symbian ke Microsoft Windows yang tidak dapat membantu bersaing lebih baik dengan rival seperti iPhone Apple Inc.

Seorang juru bicara Nokia menolak mengomentari pemotongan harga tetapi mengatakan perubahan adalah hal yang biasa dalam bisnis.

Di masa lalu, Nokia telah memotong harga secara global di seluruh portofolio sekali seperempat. Namun Nokia tidak menggunakan taktik itu dalam beberapa kuartal, malah menentukan harga berdasarkan model per model.

Tekanan Harga

Analis Strategy Analytics Neil Mawston memperingatkan langkah Nokia itu dapat memicu perang harga sekaligus memukul vendor seperti Motorola, Sony Ericsson dan LG Electronics.

"Konsumen dan operator akan mendapat manfaat besar perang harga ponsel pintar murah, namun vendor dengan margin keuntungan yang kecil bisa diperas," kata Mawston.

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd akan menjadi pembuat ponsel pintar terbesar di dunia pada kuartal ini, Nomura mengatakan Samsung, bulan lalu, menyalip Nokia yang telah mempelopori pasar ponsel pintar sejak 1996 dengan peluncuran model Communicator.

"Nokia akan datang dengan di bawah tekanan dari para pesaing, terutama Samsung yang juga bergerak agresif dalam segmen harga untuk mencuri pangsa pasar," kata analis Canalys Pete Cunningham.

Saham Nokia dalam pasar ponsel pintar global turun menjadi 25,5 persen pada kuartal pertama dari 39 persen pada tahun sebelumnya. Perusahaan riset Gartner dan banyak analis memprediksi saham Nokia akan jauh terperosok selama 2011.

Menurut survei Worldpanel ComTech's, Saham Nokia pada pasar ponsel pintar di Inggris menjadi kunci indikator di Eropa, saham Nokia turun menjadi 10,6 persen dalam 12 minggu sampai pertengahan Mei, dari 31 persen pada periode yang sama tahun lalu.

Pada akhir Mei, Nokia menegaskan hasil kuartal kedua akan jauh lebih baik dari sebelumnya dan mengejar target setahun.

CEO Nokia Stephen Elop menaruh harapan pada sistem operasi Windows Phone tahun ini, tetapi beberapa analis mengatakan Nokia akan kehilangan pangsa pasar yang begitu banyak, mungkin tidak akan pernah kembali bangkit.

"Pada bulan Mei, sebagian besar operator Eropa menolak Nokia model baru, khususnya E6 dan C7," kata Tero Kuittinen, analis MKM Partners.

"Sekarang Nokia menyulut kepanikan dengan potongan harga model-model tersebut, tanpa dukungan operator, potongan harga jarang bekerja," kata Kuittinen dikutip Reuters.

Cara Perawatan:Usahakan diletakkan dalam temperatur ruangan. Usahakan jangan menumpuk komponen elektronik di atas atau di bawah DVD player, dan usahakan diletakkan di tempat yang tidak berantakan, terutama jika di dalam kabinet yang tertutup. Ketika anda memindahkan DVD player anda, selalu matikan sebelum anda mencabut kabelnya, dan pindahkan secara perlahan lahan. Bagian dalam interior dari DVD player dapat rusak jika terkena sentakan.

Cara perawatan:Lindungi iPod anda dengan pelindung dari bahan karet. Baterai juga akan lebih awet jika anda membiarkan dan menggunakannya sampai habis, sebulan sekali sebelum anda melakukan pengisian ulang, kata Shannon Jean, pendiri dari TechRestore, pelayanan perbaikan di Concort, California. Hal ini akan memastikan baterai awet selama 12 hingga 18 bulan sebelum baterai harus diganti.

Penyakit Umum:Anda berusaha untuk memainkan musik di iPad anda dan sound track pribadi anda hilang.

Diagnosa dan Pengobatan:Jika iPod anda mati, usahakan untuk memasukkan ulang daftar lagu lagu anda. Usahakan agar perangkat anda selalu diperbaharui dengan perangkat lunak (software) terbaru dari laman perusahaan Apple . Jika iPod anda sama sekali tidak berfungsi, mungkin saja perangkat tersebut rusak. Memperbaikinya mungkin saja akan lebih mahal dibandingkan dengan membeli yang baru.

Kapan memutuskan untuk mengganti: iPod keluaran sebelum tahun 2002, yang tidak dapat berfungsi lagi, sudah tidak berharga untuk diperbaiki, kata Jean. Rata-rata Ketahanan:Lima tahun atau lebih

Cara perawatan:Kelembaban tinggi dapat menyebabkan kertas macet atau tinta yang tersumbat, jika anda memiliki masalah tersebut, anda perlu menggunakan printer tersebut pada ruangan ber-AC. Tutuplah printer anda dengan penutup tahan debu ketika sedang tidak digunakan, terutama jika printer tersebut terletak di dekat jendela terbuka. Diagnosa dan Pengobatan: Ketika hasil printer anda berbintik bintik, lepaskan tempat tintanya dan secara lembut gunakan kain halus untuk mengusap sisa sisa tinta. Jika masih tidak dapat berfungsi, gantilah tempat tintanya dengan yang baru. Jika anda memiliki printer ink-jet, bacalah manual instruksi untuk melihat apakah anda dapat membersihkan jarum printer dengna software yang telah disediakan.

The Honda Humanoid Robot ASIMO

TOKYO, Japan, December 13, 2005– Honda Motor Co., Ltd. debuted a new ASIMO humanoid robot which features the ability to pursue key tasks in a real-life environment such as an office and an advanced level of physical capabilities. Compared to the previous model, the new ASIMO achieves the enhanced ability to act in sync with people – for example, walking with a person while holding hands. A new function to carry objects using a cart was also added. Further, the development of a “total control system” enables ASIMO to automatically perform the tasks of a receptionist or information guide and carry out delivery service. In addition, the running capability is dramatically improved, with ASIMO now capable of running at a speed of 6km/hour and of running in a circular pattern.

Honda has been pursuing research and development of a truly useful humanoid robot which possesses both intelligence and physical capabilities at a high level. With the advancements achieved with this new ASIMO, the initial goal of achieving advanced physical capabilities is accomplished. Honda will continue and even more proactively pursue R&D efforts by shifting the focus to the area of intelligence capabilities, which, for example, will further enable ASIMO to make comprehensive judgments based on various situations.

ASIMO Goes on a (Science) Picnic in PolandWarsaw, Poland, 29th May 2011 - ASIMO made its first ever appearance in Poland this week to attend Science Picnic, a popular open air science festival in the country's capital, Warsaw. Now in its 13th year, Science Picnic is Europe's largest public outdoor science event, attracting around 200,000 visitors and involving over 250 scientific institutions from around the world.

ASIMO's first of five public appearances at the event was introduced by His Excellency, Japanese Ambassador Yuichi Kusumoto. During this opening show ASIMO shook hands with His Excellency and provided a demonstration of its ability to give and receive objects by serving the Ambassador a drink. Four further ASIMO shows were held during the day, drawing huge crowds of families and young people all wishing to have their first glimpse of the world's most advanced humanoid robot.

This time, the company unveils an unassuming watch that contains a tiny camera that can shoot images and video clips, plus it’s also waterproof with IPX8 certification. Other features include a weight of 86 grams, 4GB internal memory, a USB port, and compatibility to a bunch of Windows OS and Mac OS 10.5.

The video clips are in 640 x 480 resolution at 30 frames per second, while the photos are in JPEG format in up to 1,600 x 1,200 resolution.

Tron Inspired Watch Concept Watches

The upcoming movie Tron Legacy have garnered quite an interest among those who have seen first Tron movie in 1982. Set for December release, Tron Legacy may have once again inspired some people just like what the first movie did to a lot of its fans. This inspiration has even spread to some product designers like the ones who came up with this Tron inspired watch concept.

This unique Tron “seven-r-zero-n” watch borrows from the famous lighted suit design as seen from the movie. This time, it is integrated into a watch design with a unique LED lighted watch face consisting of two circles. The outer circle indicates the minutes while the inner one indicates the hour. It offers a unique means to tell time without the numbers.

Just by the looks of it, it really is quite an interesting timepiece to have. Unfortunately, this Tron inspired watch remains as a concept for now. The use of two high-precision aspherical lenses made distortion almost unnoticeable. Ghosting is one of the causes of image quality deterioration. To eliminate the problem, all of the individual lenses that are part of the GR Lens have been covered with the multi-coating optimum for each. To minimize the small residual reflection striking the CCD, we also ran original simulations repeatedly to determine optimum conditions for lens curvature, etc. As a result, we successfully suppressed ghosting, particularly that caused by off-screen light sources such as the sun.

GXR is a new camera system that consists of a body and camera units. Each camera unit contains a lens (focal lengths differ between units), an image sensor of optimum type and size for the unit, and an image processing engine. The slide mechanism adopted for attaching and removing camera units enables changes to be made quickly and securely.

It is the lens that gives life to the photograph. In interchangeable lens camera systems up to now, the distance from the mount and the back of the lens to the sensor image plane was subject to requirements for flange back distance and back focal length. This made it difficult to achieve both compactness and high optical performance. Eliminating the lens mount, however, means that the back focal length can be freely defined for the GXR, enabling the new system to use the most optically efficient lens designs and giving it excellent potential for future expansion. This practical concept has given birth to camera units that achieve compact size without compromising image quality.

In order to make the best use of the inherent power of the lens and the image sensor, the ideal solution is to combine both in a single unit. Consider, for example, the low-pass filter covering the surface of the image sensor. The dilemma faced is that while the filter helps prevent color noise and color moiré, increasing this benefit results in an ever greater sacrifice in lens resolution. Traditional interchangeable lens systems use a single low-pass filter for all lenses so they are unable to avoid situations where the filter effect is excessive or inadequate. With the GXR, on the other hand, we can design a filter optimized for the resolution of the specific lens. In this way, Ricoh has succeeded in effectively preventing color noise while suppressing filter influence on lens resolution.
